Sand Sea Resort: two wings change the Railay stay

EDITORIAL REVIEW · 218 words · 2 min read · Editorial date 29 March 2026

Swimming pool and beachfront grounds at Sand Sea Resort

Sand Sea Resort spans Railay from west to east, and its two wings are an important part of the room choice. The official website puts Deluxe Bungalows and Grand Deluxe Building rooms in the Sunset Wing, while Tropical Chalay and Tropical Villas belong to the Sunrise Wing.

The listed sizes reinforce that distinction: Tropical Chalay is 35 square metres, a Deluxe Bungalow is 40, and a Grand Deluxe Building room is 48. A photograph of one layout cannot describe all three, nor does the resort’s beachfront pool place every room directly beside the sand.

A Grand Deluxe Building guest in the Sunset Wing found the accommodation aged but appreciated the staff. They also noticed limited availability of sunbeds when other guests reserved them with towels. That is their experience around the pool, not a fixed resort rule.

Muso Chan liked the views and location during a Deluxe Bungalow stay but noticed mosquitoes. An anonymous Tropical Chalay guest enjoyed the pool and convenient base for boat trips. The different categories explain why a broad description of the resort can conceal quite different stays.

The west-facing beach and access across Railay are compelling features. Choosing the wing and room type gives a much clearer picture of the holiday than treating Sand Sea as a single row of interchangeable beachfront bungalows.
