This is a central-location choice with mixed maintenance accounts, rather than a hotel whose appeal rests on polished rooms or dependable quiet. The short route to the beach is useful for a trip spent out in Ao Nang. It is a weaker argument for someone who wants the pool and room to be the main attraction.
